These issues were forming new rifts that could lead to massive power vacuums in the Indigo region's underworld.That same year, Silver was kidnapped as leverage, despite having been no-contact with either of his parents. He came out of it alive, with no assistance. His kidnappers did not have the same fortune.In his panic to find a safe place (and perhaps to guarantee that any future misfortune was deserved), Silver called Team Rocket to throw himself at their mercy, only to find that Giovanni had passed. In the hope Silver would continue the family's name, he left Silver the heir to a criminal empire, under the condition he pass certain tests..After ensuring the fragmented old guard would not rise against him, Silver settled into his role.His first order of business? Find a body double. A private investigation found a cousin in Sinnoh, one that was not in a position to refuse any help. Thus, Mars joined his retinue.
